In order to be able to use the services offered by the Information Centre, you almost always need an account (login) of the university (Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart - HFT)

As soon as you have received a temporary password from student administration, you can retrieve your permanent account information for your HFT account via the following portal:

In order to check your e-mails from home or on the road, you need a VPN connection to the HFT on the device from which you want to check your e-mails (notebook, mobile phone or desktop computer).

If you are at the HFT in one of the HFT's wifi networks (Eduroam, HFTwifi, HFTwlan...), you do not need a VPN connection for the email service.

Quick guide:

  1. Download and install the VPN client (according to your operating system). You will need your university access data for the download.
  2. After successful installation, start the software and enter the correct VPN server address according to your group affiliation (student,...) and connect by clicking "connect".
  3. Enter your user name (without @hft-stuttgart.de) and your password.
  4. Accept the notification window with "accept".
  5. You will receive a message that you are connected.
  6. Start your e-mail client (e.g. Outlook). If it was already started, please close it first and start it again.

Now you can send and receive your e-mails from your HFT account.

You will find detailed and illustrated instructions under VPN access to the HFT network in Confluence.

Zoom Account

You can get a Zoom account by logging in to Zoom via SSO using your HFT e-mail address and your HFT-account information. 

Your Zoom account will be generated and active.

There is a Zoom-Anleitung (german language introduction) in Confluence, we are working on a translation into english.
