Die Nutzung von Hardware-Token ist derzeit nur für Mitarbeitende im Verwaltungs-VPN möglich, wird aber ab 2023 schrittweise für alle Mitarbeitende eingeführt. 
Wer statt dem Smartphone den Hardware-Token nutzen möchte, muss den Hardware-Token über ist@hft-stuttgart.de beantragen. Beantragungen können ab sofort erfolgen und Sie werden benachrichtigt wenn der Token an der Leihtheke in der Bibliothek abholbereit ist.




Dear university members,

In order to increase the security of our data, the use of VPN has only been possible with multi-factor authentication since December 21, 2022.


This means that anyone who wants to access drives or certain library and IT systems of the university via VPN outside the university needs an additional factor for authentication.


The other factor can be done via smartphone (App oder SMS) or via a hardware token. Das IZ empfiehlt die Verwendung der Smartphone-App.

The use of hardware tokens is currently only possible for employees in the administration VPN, but will be gradually introduced for all employees from 2023.
If you want to use the hardware token instead of the smartphone, you must apply for the hardware token via ist@hft-stuttgart.de. Applications can be made immediately and you will be notified when the token is ready for collection at the lending desk in the library.
